Dr. Manuel Sanchez Miranda

Dr. Manuel Sánchez Miranda is a highly experienced attorney specializing in international trade law, with a focus on WTO, USMCA, and related legal frameworks. He advises governments, multinational corporations, and dispute settlement panels on a wide range of high-level trade issues, including trade remedies (antidumping, countervailing duties, and safeguard measures), market access and domestic regulations, technical barriers to trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and customs matters. He has extensive experience in international dispute resolution, having advised or represented clients in numerous WTO disputes, NAFTA Chapter XIX cases, and USMCA proceedings. Previously, he led the WTO dispute settlement team at Mexico's trade remedies authority (i.e. Mexico's Unit of International Trade Practices), where he also ensured that all trade remedy investigations complied with Mexico’s obligations under the WTO and regional trade agreements. His international experience includes working with the WTO Legal Affairs Division and a leading international law firm in Geneva.

Dr. Sánchez Miranda also offers training services to governments and organizations on international trade law, dispute resolution, and related topics. He has taught at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva and regularly conducts tailored training programs for clients.

He holds a Ph.D. in International Law with magna cum laude distinction from the Graduate Institute. He also earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) and a Certificate in WTO Studies from Georgetown University Law Center, as well as a law degree from the Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM).
